Richard

Richard grew up in Chester in the North-West of England and studied dentistry at Leeds University. He realised from an early age that excellent dentistry required knowledge but also a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail. After qualifying in 1990 and working for a year in the U.K. Dr Richard decided to broaden his horizons and travelled to Australia. He was fortunate to land on his feet by finding a position at Aardent Dental Centre which was founded by Dr Julian O’Brien. Initially Richard worked as an associate with Julian and then partner before finally taking over full ownership of the practice. He remembers fondly the professional support and friendship that Julian and he shared for nearly thirty years. Dr Richard prides himself on being approachable and enjoys being able to discuss patients’ treatment needs in a friendly, non-confronting and comfortable manner. He prides himself on his unwavering commitment to quality and works hard to achieve the very best outcomes every day. He enjoys providing a large range of dental treatments but has a particular interest in implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and wisdom tooth extractions. Outside of work Richard has enjoyed many sports including rugby, squash, running and paddling. In his younger years he completed the Avon Descent twice. Nowadays he enjoys taking his dog to the beach for a walk with his wife and spending time with his family. He is a very keen and sometimes frustrated golfer. His unwavering optimism characterises him on the golf course and at work.
