The health of our patients, staff and anyone who enters the building is of paramount importance to us. We are taking a multitude of precautions as recommended by the appropriate health authorities (and some of our own). These include,

  • Spacing of waiting room chairs by a minimum of 1.5meters.
  • Removal of magazines, newspapers and children’s toys from the waiting room.
  • Offering patients to wait in their cars if they prefer.
  • Insisting that all people who enter the building use hand sanitiser (provided).
  • Asking all people to practice high levels of cough/sneezing hygiene.
  • Requesting that anyone with a temperature/flu like symptoms contact us and postpone their dental appointment.
  • Regularly sanitising building surfaces like doorknobs etc.

Please rest assured that we are open for business and able to continue our excellent level of treatment for you.

As you will be aware the situation is ever changing as will be our response. We will endeavour to keep you informed along the way.

There is nothing better than a beautiful smile showcasing pearly white teeth. Given teeth whitening is the most popular cosmetic dentistry treatment in Australia, that lovely smile is easily within reach. Whitening treatments are a great way to remove stains, correct discolouration, and achieve a brighter, healthier smile.

With most dental centres offering this service and so many take-home options available, it’s hard to know how to choose the right one. Read on to learn more about the differences between at-clinic or at-home teeth whitening procedures.

At-home teeth whitening is often cheaper and less effective than in-chair treatments, as your dentist can work with a more potent formula without fear of damaging your teeth.

At-clinic teeth whitening

You will get faster and more reliable results from an experienced dentist because in-chair at-clinic treatments use a gel with higher concentrations of whitening chemicals applied safely in controlled conditions.

Your dentist will advise whether teeth whitening treatment will be effective for you. Before they apply the gel, they’ll clean your teeth for consistent results. Professional tooth whitening by a dentist in Perth often takes around 60 minutes and can be performed several times to achieve the desired shade.

Will At-clinic teeth whitening remove my stains?

Professional teeth whitening can remove deep stains as the system works by oxidising stain particles within the tiny pores (tubules) across your tooth enamel. By lifting stains out of the tooth, your smile looks whiter than before.

Are there some stains that whitening won’t budge?

Yes. Staining caused by medications or defects can be challenging to treat.

How Long will my Professional Teeth Whitening Last?

Typically, the treatment will last for several months. Tooth enamel is porous, and staining may likely reoccur in the future. You might need more regular treatments if you drink lots of coffee, tea, or red wine.

Minimise new stains forming by drinking plenty of water. Rinse your mouth throughout the day, and use a straw if you drink dark liquids.

Don’t Skip Regular dental check-ups

Regular check-ups with your dentist will keep your smile nice and bright.
